Cpt. Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye"  Pierce -

Season 1-11     Doctor

Nick named Hawkeye by his father (only living parent) after the book "Last of the Mohicans".   He is from Crabapple Cove, Maine and did his residency in Boston, where he met Trapper John.  In most episodes he is an only child.

Alan Alda  - Born January 28th 1936 in New York.

     

Cpt. "Trapper" John Xavier  McIntyre

Season 1-3     Doctor

His home is Boston, Massachusetts and did his residency in Boston.  Married to Louise and has two daughters named Kathy and Becky.  The first three seasons he was Hawkeye's partner in pranks and jokes

Born April 7th 1933 in Birmingham, AL

     

Col. Henry Braymore Blake  -

Season 1-3    C.O. & Doctor

Henry was from Bloomington, Illinois and was graduated from the  University of Illinois.  He was married to Loraine and had two daughters named Molly and Janie and a son Andrew.  Henry was an indecisive leader but a good doctor.  He tried to intercept all of Frank and Margret's reports on Hawk and Trapper.  He received his discharge at the end of season three.

Maj. Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan  -

Season 1-11     Head Nurse

Born in an Army Hospital to "Howitzer Houlihan.  Her mother was an Army nurse and her younger sister is an Army nurse.   Early in the series she has a "not so" secret affair with Major Burns.  She and Frank were constantly complaining and filing reports on Hawkeye and Trapper for their lack of military discipline.

Cpl. Walter "Radar" O'Reilly

Season 1-7 (8) Company Clerk

Born and raised In Ottumwa, Iowa.  He lives on a farm with his mother and Uncle Ed. His father died when he was very young.   Has an uncanny ability to know what is about to happen  and he reads minds.

Gary Burghoff
Born May 24th 1943 in Bristol, CT

     

Maj. Franklin Marion Burns

Season 1-5     Doctor

His home is Fort Wayne, Indiana and did his residency in Indiana.  Married to Louise and has three daughters.  (Names never mentioned)  Frank has an inferiority complex and tries to pull rank on everyone.  He acts like a sissy and has a nick name of Ferret Face.  Has the "Hots" for Hot Lips.  He constantly complains about everyone's lack of military discipline.

Larry Linville

Season 4-11     Doctor

His home is Mill Valley, California and is married to Peggy. He has a daughter named Erin who was less than a year old when he was drafted.  His wife sends him rum cookies that the doctors love.  His mother's name is Bea and his Father is Jay.

Mike Farrell
Born February 6th 1939 in St. Paul, MN

    

Colonel Sherman T. Potter

Season 4-11     C.O. & Doctor

Has a home in Hannibal, Missouri where his wife Mildred lives.  He served in WW I and WW II in the Calvary.  Has a daughter named Effe and a son-in-law named Bob.  He also has a son whose name was not mentioned and a grandson.  He has a horse named Sophie and a hobby of painting

Harry Morgan
Born April 10th 1915 in Detroit, MI.
Real name Harry Bratsburg

   

Major Charles Emerson Winchester III

Season 6-11     Doctor

A snobby rich folk from Boston.  Worked in Thoracic Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital.  He has a sister named Honoria and a brother name Timmy.  Sent to Korea from Tokyo by beating a Colonel at the game of Cribbage.

Sgt. Maxwell Q. Klinger

Season 1-11  - Coreman/Clerk

Max is a Section 8 wannabe from Toledo, Ohio.  Has a sister named Yvonne.  His mother doesn't speak any english and writes him in Lebanese.  He pulls many antics to get out of the army including wearing dresses  Constantly trying to make a fast buck.
