Commissioner's Comments

Welcome to Smokey's Fantasy League 2003 Season. There are two new teams in the league this season, the Cowboys and Team SMTM. As fate would have it, they are both in the same division. This does not mean that the Top division is any weaker or stronger than the Bottom, it just means that there are two Rookie teams in one division. However...

 

The highest score of the week goes out to Bobby's BullDozers and they rolled over the Kegs like they were aluminum cans. Bobby's score of 62 crunched the Killers noble effort of 40.  The highest scoring player that is owned is on the BullDozer's team, but Chandler was on the bench with 19 points.

The Elm Sprouts grew to a victory when they defeated the rookies, Team SMTM, by a single point, 34-33. Team SMTM (which, this week, stands for Show Me The Mercy) should have played different players. They learned a valuable lesson as they left 35 points sitting on the bench and could have had a perfect game of 58 points. This would have defeated the Sprouts for their opening debut. Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda...

The SFL Cowboys started their season a little stronger than the NFL Cowboys, but the outcome was the same. Going into the Monday night game, the SFL score of 27-13 was the same as the NFL final between the Falcons and Cowboys. Smokey Spot defeated the Cowboys with a final score of 27-18.

Sweet Meat turned out like a prime cut as they taught the teachers how to play a season opener. Kevin's Meat was the second highest scoring team.  The Sweet Meat tenderized the Educators 49-24.

Brad's Bombers missed their target as they lost the opener to the Angry Accountants. The Accountants added enough points to fizzle the fuse of the Bombers with a score of 25-17.  Brad left 19 points on the bench, which cost him the game.

 

There had to be five victors and five lo... less than victors. We will see who is 2-0 and who will be 0-2 after Week 2.
