2006 Smokey's Fantasy League Rules

2005 Rules are being updated

FEES Team Coach fee is $120. Coach fees MUST be paid by the pre draft meeting or you will not be allowed to draft your team. The sooner you pay the better your odds of getting a team in the league.
ROSTERS The roster will consist of 1 Quarterback (QB)- 2 Running Backs (RB) - 3 Wide Receivers (WR) - 1 Kickers (K) - 1 Special Teams/Defense (ST/D) and - 7 floaters. A minimum of 1 QB-2 RB-3 WR-1 K-1 ST/D (1-2-3-1-1) is required to fill a line-up. All receivers, including Tight Ends, are referred to as WR (wide receiver).  The floaters can be ANY position.
THE DRAFT The draft order will be determined at the pre-draft meeting.  Odd numbers are in the Bot division and Even numbers are in the Top division.  The draft type is the snake.  (1st thru last - last thru 1st)  The roster can be filled in any order as long as all required roster slots are filled before the floater is selected.  
LINEUP Weekly lineups are due by game time of the first game of the week.  This is referred to as lineup deadline. The lineup is 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 K, 1 ST/D,  If a lineup is not turned in by the deadline, the Commish will select the lineup that will be used.  A preliminary lineup is required to be turned in at the end of the draft on draft day. 
Roster Transactions

When making a Free Agent drop/add, the transaction should take place in a specific order.  The comment portion of the transaction should state the type of transaction and what players are involved.  This includes: Free Agent Drop/Add, Trades,   There will be NO changes in rosters or lineup's after the deadline, until after the Monday night game.  The Roster Change Period is from Tuesday at noon until the weekly line-up deadline. - Tuesday at noon thru Wednesday at 5 PM is controlled - after 6 PM on Wednesday thru the kickoff of the first game of the week is a first come first served basis.

FREE AGENCY

Free Agency is when you want to release a player on your roster and draft a player that is not currently on any other team roster.  Free Agency drafts are allowed until week 12 ().   Free Agency drafts are $10 each and the fee is DUE at the time the transaction takes place. There are NO exceptions!!  Team Coach must maintain the minimum roster of 1-2-3-1-1(see above).  No free agent pickups are available for the playoffs (weeks 16 & 17). All adds are effective immediately.

 

TO WAIVE A PLAYER AND PICK UP A FREE AGENT

FIRST: Perform a Waiver and select the player that you want to draft from the free agency list, select the player from your roster that you wish to release, provide a comment stating details about the transaction, and submit for approval.

 

Free agent pickups are on a first come - first served basis.  Free agency fees are added to the Super Bowl Winner pot. The transaction fees will be distributed  50, 25, 15, 10% to the to top 4 places

TRADING

Player trading is allowed until week 12. After week 12 no trading is allowed. Only 2 trades among any two coaches per season.   All player trades are free.  Coaches must maintain the minimum roster of 2-3-4-2-2(see above).

INJURY There are no more Injured Reserve players.  If your player is down - bench him or drop him - (see Free Agency above)
OFFICIAL SCORING The scoring from the software program and the internet database will be the OFFICIAL scores.
SCORING - Offense Quarterback, Running back, Wide Receiver- 3 pts for rushing for every 100, 3 pts for receiving for every 100, 3 pts for passing over 300,  4 pts for throwing a touchdown pass, 6 pts for rushing a touchdown, 6 pts for receiving a touchdown pass, 1 pt for throwing a two point conversion pass, 2 pts for rushing a two point conversion score, 2 pts for receiving a two point conversion pass.  1 pt for every 20 yards rushing, 1 pt for every 20 yards receiving, and 1 pt for every 40 yards passing.

Kicker - 1 pt for extra point goal, 3 pts for a field goal.

All OFFENSIVE scoring plays  50 yards and OVER-- scoring is doubled (excluding yardage)

SCORING- Defense Sack - 1 pt,  Interception - 1 pt,  Fumble recovery - 1 pt,  Touchdown - 6 pts, Safeties - 2 pts - PLUS: 1 pt for every 20 yards interception return, 1 pt for every 20 yards fumble recovery return
SCORING  - Tie breakers In the event of a tie in regular scoring, Tie breaker in week 1 will be a name drawn from a hat by Jim and Bob - afterwards it will be overall coaching percentage. (then: 1>Head to Head, 2>Divisional record, 3> Total points for. 4>A coin toss. )  One additional point will be added to the total score of the game winner. This point will be a permanent addition and count in the official standing as points. If the tie still remains after the tie breakers have been reviewed, the game will be recorded as a tie. 
SEASON and Playoffs The season is 14 weeks and the playoffs will take place during Week 15  and 16 of the NFL season.  The top Four teams will be in the playoffs. The top team from each division (Seed 1 and Seed 2) and the two next best records (Seed 3 and Seed 4). Seed 4 being the worst record of the four teams. The first week.  Seed 1 will play Seed 4 and Seed 2 will play Seed 3. 
STANDINGS TIE BREAKER Tie breakers for standings follow this order. 1)Head to Head, 2)Divisional record, 3) Total points for. 4)A coin toss.
THE PAYOUT Fee & Payout has been revised this year during the Pre Draft meeting.  -
 

 

8 Players @ $120  - Collected Money = $960

Less $70 for software &  $50 Commish fees. and $40 for (???) =$800

 

Four teams not making the playoffs - $20 for each playoff games that you win. Each team could make $20 each but some teams might make $40 and some might make $0.  For a total of 4 games (4 teams = 2 games x 2 weeks) $80

 

This leaves $720 for the Super Bowl playoffs.

 

1st Place %50 = $360 plus 50% of the Transaction fees (year 2005 =$600)

2nd Place %25= $180 plus 25% of the Transaction fees

3rd Place %15 = $108 plus 15% of the Transaction fees

4th place %10 = $72   plus 10% of the Transaction fees
